My name is Roger Stidham and I am a high school math teacher in Arizona. Several years ago while I was in college I decided to borrow a guitar and teach myself how to play. Needless to say, when you have been playing guitar for a while you get a feel for what someone might need to know when they are starting out. Many times these are basic questions that a seasoned guitar player would know, but that doesn’t necessarily mean someone just starting out would have any clue about. I’m talking about things like whether you should learn to play guitar (if you are undecided), what kinds of guitars are there, what kinds of strings should I buy, what kind of pick should I use, and things of that nature.
